Poultry are a joy to own. Chickens, ducks, and turkeys make very entertaining and useful animals. At Tucker Milling we would like to give you the tools to make feeding your poultry simple from the day you bring them home.
Start your chicks on Tucker Milling Chick
Starter. This is a complete feed for chicks through their third week.
The small crumble form of the feed is the appropriate size for
the chicks and provides optimal nutrition. After the third week, your
chicks can be moved up to Chick Grower. This is also a complete feed
in crumble form so it can be easily consumed and digested by
the chicks. Food particle size is very important, as chicks will not
do well if their food is too large to be consumed.
If you intend to keep your chickens for laying, you have several choices for nutrition. First of all, the hens can be fed the 20% Lay Feed or 16% Layer. Both of the lay feeds are available in a pelleted or crumble form, depending on you or your poultry's preferences.
Scratch Feed is a natural blend of grains and is intended to be fed along with the 20% Lay Feed or the 16% Layer. Many hens prefer scratch over pellets or granules, so it should be offered to them as only one part of their ration so complete nutrtion can be gained.
What about the game birds? Turkey, Quail, Pheasants and other Game Birds require a much higher level of protien. This can be provided in the Game Bird Starter and Game Bird Grower.
